Penfield:  Born in New York, NY on October 17, 1938, and predeceased by her husband John and sister Bernadette DeMarco, passed away the afternoon of Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the age of 84.

She is survived by her daughter Michele (Rodney); grandchildren Heidi (Nathan), Darien (LeeAnn), Wayne “Danny”, and Remington; great-grandchildren Jeramy, John, Maci, Elaina, Serenity, and Liam; niece Jane (Gary); and great-nephew Michael (Mary). She dedicated most of her life to taking care of her family, and then later shared her skills with other families as a nanny in Durham, North Carolina. In 2003, she and John returned to New York and moved to Penfield to be closer to their grandchildren. Known as a “tough cookie” to most she encountered, she lived the Beatitudes and ensured that not just family, but any life she touched, and even those she couldn’t, were fed, clothed, and housed to the best of her ability. She didn’t understand the word “no.” She will be forever remembered by any life she ever touched.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 , at Sampson Military Cemetery in Romulus, NY at 1:00pm. Mass will be said in her honor at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Penfield, to celebrate what would have been her 85th birthday on October 17, 2023 at 9am. Diane didn’t like flowers, but she was a life-long proponent of Catholic education.
