Doyle "Corky" Schweder
Ontario - Doyle "Corky" Schweder, 79, passed Monday, November 28, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Even though debilitated, it could not diminish his joy at Yankees games, his loyalty to the Buffalo Bills or his love of all things with engines that raced.
He had a sharp wit, a jovial laugh, and enjoyed a good game of euchre in the common room with the fellas. He lived for his "treats" and could down an ice cream or a doughnut in seconds. He loved an ice cold "barley pop" and a clam bake.
After his service in Vietnam, he became an active member in his local American Legion Post # 428. He spent a lot of time there being a part of his fellow veterans' lives. After coming to live at the VA in Canandaigua, he still continued his activities and groups.
Predeceased by parents Louis and Mary Jane, wife Kathleen Schweder (Harris, Miller) and stepson Bryan Miller Sr. He will be missed by son John (Dee Dee) Schweder, daughter Jennifer (Glen) Fishbaugh, stepdaughter Kristine (Dan) Zarcone, brother John (Marcia) Schweder, and loving cousins Linda and Janet. He will also be missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and all of the lives that he touched at the VA hospital.
