Eleanor E. Canfield

Webster/Ontario – Eleanor passed away on March 8, 2021 at age 85.  She was born in Rochester, NY to Frank and Alice Haynes.  She was also predeceased by her husband, Larry and daughter, Deborah Lynn Vanderkamp.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Charles (Adarkus) Vanderkamp, Lorraine Joy, Douglas (Debra) Vanderkamp, and Michael Vanderkamp; many grandchildren.

Eleanor was very compassionate and committed to serving the communities in which she lived.  She was a long time member of Daughters of the Nile and in 1989, Eleanor was named Queen.

Eleanor was a very loving person who always opened her home and welcomed others.  She was always involved with helping those in need with clothing and food drives. 

Eleanor had a natural green thumb, which brought her much joy.  Above all, Eleanor’s faith and devotion to God gave her peace through life. 

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-6 PM on Thursday (March 11) at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1961 Ridge Rd., Ontario, NY 14519.  To best accommodate those who wish to attend with Covid protocol, please register a time by clicking on the tab below.  Eleanor will be laid to rest in White Haven Memorial Park in a private service.
