Joyce Lillian Wade
Middlesex, New York: Passed away to a better existence on Monday, February 11, 2019. She was 60 years old. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Joyce was predeceased by her parents Ralph S. Wade, Sr. and Florence (nee Mills) Wade and an older brother, Ralph S. Wade, Jr. She is survived by a younger brother, Robert S. Wade of Pottstown, Pennsylvania; a nephew, Robert Wade of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a maternal uncle, Charles Gillies of Dallas, Texas; and a maternal aunt, Margaret Gillies of Cape May, New Jersey.
Joyce graduated from West Chester State University in 1981. Joyce began a career in the medical profession as a registered nurse in the City of Philadelphia. She continued her education at the University of Pennsylvania and, in 1992, completed all requirements to become a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). As a CNM, Joyce has served communities in Massachusetts and New York, particularly the Mennonite Community in the Penn Yan and Canandaigua areas. She practiced in those areas from 1998 until her death, having delivered over 1,000 babies into the world. She was well-loved and respected by many.
