Marilynn Kay "Hegeman" Kesel "Dolly" "Little Mama" "Teta" “Titi”
Victor/Shortsville: Passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the age of 84. Dolly was born on May 18, 1938 to the late Elsie "Geil" and Harlan Hegeman. She is predeceased by her loving husband Raymond C. Kesel. She is survived by her son, Greg (Mary Margaret) Kesel; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Kevin) Lechner; grandson, Ray "RJ" (Tara) Kesel; great grandson Gregory Kesel; great granddaughters, Mackenzie Kesel and Emily Chantal Lechner; brother, Sharon (Elaine) Hegeman; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marilynn was a great mother to her son, Greg. She loved her family very much and looked forward to seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time at her cottage "Camp LeGoose" on Keuka Lake with her husband, brother, and sister in-law. Family would visit “the lake” many weekends and could be found laughing, joking, telling stories around the kitchen table, playing games, relaxing on the beach, and cruising the lake in their boat. Her brother Sharon, at age 3, gave her the nickname "Dolly" when she arrived home from the hospital shortly after her birth. That nickname stuck with her throughout her life. Dolly graduated from Penfield HS and worked a few jobs, finally retiring from Flightline in Fishers, NY. After retirement, she took up golf and would winter with her husband in Florida where they made many new friends. Her family will miss her, but cherish the legacy she has left behind.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 4-7 PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 State Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502 where a celebration of Marilynn’s life will take place at 10AM on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Interment will be private. Those wishing, in honor of Dolly, may direct memorial contributions to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital, in recognitionher love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
