Mildred Gefell (Strack) Roberts

Mildred Gefell Strack Roberts passed away peacefully at the age of 93 in Naples, Florida on September 5, 2023.

Born in Rochester, NY to Edward and Mary Gefell on January 21, 1930, Millie was the youngest of seven children. She attended Nazareth Academy, later married Karl W. Strack and became a proud mother of three children. In 1970, she moved to Florida where she later remarried and became a dedicated mom to her extended family.  She served as the Administrative Assistant to the State Attorney General of Palm Beach County for eighteen years.

After retirement, Millie moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to live with her daughter, where she became very active in civic organizations and church. More importantly, retirement allowed her ample time to focus on her number one mission - spending quality time as "grammy" with her grandchildren. From Cincinnati, she moved to Marblehead, Massachusetts and then to Naples, Florida where she remained active in both church and civic organizations.

Millie is survived by her daughter Ann Marie (Robert) Updaw, her sons Karl (Jeanne) Strack and Robert (Elizabeth) Strack plus by 3 stepchildren, Debbie (William) Togher, Dale (Laura) Roberts, and Diane Cintron.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Dr. Robert (Dr. Alison) Updaw II, Karen (Daniel) Thorpe, Jennifer (Michael) Costain, Stephanie Strack, Yvonne Colavito, Andrew (Patricia) Strack, Eric Strack, Brian Strack and seven step grandchildren.  Millie was also "grammy" to twelve great grandchildren, James Joseph Updaw, Daniel and Alyssa Thorpe, Kaleb and Karsten Costain, Ansleigh Hodges, Hunter and Chase Colavito, Sophie, Clara, Landon and Oliver Strack plus two step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Millie's life, a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish (St. Mary of the Lake Church), 5823 Walworth Road, Ontario, NY on September 30, 2023, at 12:00 PM.
