Nancy V. Aldridge
Victor
Nancy passed away peacefully on June 11th, 2021 at FF Thompson Hospital, Canandaigua NY. She was born on July 3rd, 1938 in Fairport NY to her parents, John and Marjorie VanDerMallie, representing one of ten children, and married Gilbert W. Aldridge on October 5, 1957. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Aldridge; her sister Helen Clarise; her two children, Linda Clintsman (Matthew) and Jeffery Aldridge (Darlene); grandchildren, Kalynn Reedman (Ashley), Jacob Clintsman (Tiffany), Stephanie Clintsman (Jordan), WIlliam Thomson (Nellie), Stephen Thomson (Allie), and Brandon; and five great-grandchildren, Sutton, Claire, Hayden, Crue, and Caiden.
Nancy was a hostess whose generosity and love knew no bounds. To Nancy, her family was her world, and her grandchildren her greatest treasure. A loyal friend and confidant to all who knew her, she sought to welcome and comfort all who crossed her threshold, and easily invited newcomers into family conversations and stories. She made sure everyone was well-fed, hydrated, and warm with the gift of her blanket or sweater. An avid conversationalist, Nancy thrived during the holidays, and summer family gatherings. She kept her friends and connections close, readily taking time out of her day to spend time with longtime high school friends in coffee shops and taking day trips. Her voice and laugh were memorable, and never to be forgotten by her family and friends. Her kindness and care towards animals, particularly her dogs, was evident in her annual donations to Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester. She was known particularly for her gardens, food, cleaning expertise, and ability to bring everyone together. On the phone, she made sure you knew you were loved, and always maintained the last goodbye.
Nancy will be laid to rest on July 31st, 2021, with a private burial to be attended by her immediate family, followed by a celebration of life at her home for all friends and family who would like to attend, 1:00pm-4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please provide any donations to Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester.
