Oliver Amesbury
Macedon: Passed away at the age of 91 on January 20th. He was born and raised in Bolivar, NY. In 1956 he relocated his family to Macedon, NY. He is predeceased by his parents Glenn and Thelma Amesbury and his wife of 70 years Norma. Oliver drilled water wells with his father and son for many years. He was a successful businessman selling snowmobiles and John Deere tractors where many friendships grew to become lifetime friends. Many grew to appreciate his knowledge and ability to fix anything that was broken. Up until about a year ago people would still call or stop by for a quick weld or repair. Age caught up to him 18 months ago after losing the love of his life. Over the years, it was known that Oliver had been adopted as a second dad or grandpa. He had a lot of wisdom to share and they loved him for his guidance and encouragement in life. With his son’s help they restored a 1937 chevy street rod where he enjoyed many shows with Norma, Damon and family, and the street rod club. Oliver was a life time member of Macedon Masonic Lodge and Damascus Shriner in addition to Macedon Center Fire Department. Survived by Damon, Glenn (Katherine), Cindy (Mike), Sharon and Nancy, sister-in-law Esther Hardman, nieces, nephews, many grandkids, great grandchildren and dear friends.
