Phyllis R. Kane
Ontario – Phyllis passed away on January 24, 2023 at age 79. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to Attilio and Elizabeth Sbedico. Phyllis was also predeceased by her son, William C. Assel, Jr. and grandson, Arlis Craft.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Catherine (Michael) Cosco, Patricia (Frank) Ciulla, and Theresa (Kiel) Craft; grandchildren, Alexis (Mark) Wegman, Alexandria (Caleb) Dunham, Nicole Townsend, Roger Townsend, Khloe, Wyatt, Tatum, and Greer Craft; great grandchildren, Graham, Avery, Natalie, and Allison; Partner, Douglas Hague; brother, Douglas Potenza.
Phyllis was a proud Navy veteran. She had an adventurous spirit who traveled the world. She valued relationships amongst a wide variety of friend groups including: Welcome-Wagon of Ontario, Ginna co-workers, Spiritus Christi, and many others. Phyllis loved a meal out along with a nice glass of house cabernet. She had a fondness for Sodus Point, sunsets, and being by the water. The last five years, she had many special times with her partner, Doug who added joy to her life. Above all she was a loving, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Her quick wit will be missed by all.
A Memorial Mass for Phyllis will be held on Saturday (January 28), 10 AM at Spiritus Christi at Spiritus Christi Church, 121 N. Fitzhugh St., Rochester, NY 14614. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Phyllis may be directed to Habitat for Humanity, 755 Culver Rd., Rochester, NY 14609 or to a charity of your choice.
