Robert M. Borchard
Rochester – Bob died on December 23, 2020 at age 89. He was born in Rochester, NY to Ralph and Margaret Borchard.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Van Zeilen) Borchard; sister, Sara Jane (Bob) McDowell; children, Sue (Jim) Morgan, Karen (Alan) Fort; grandchildren, Lance (Kelly) Dobler, Christopher Fort, Trevor Fort, Justine (Adriel) Morgan-Colon, Nathan Morgan; several great-grandchildren.
In 1950, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He was stationed in Germany and received several service medals.
In 1958, Bob graduated from Michigan State University and went to work for his father, the late Ralph R. Borchard, in commercial real estate development. His father’s firm handled site assemblage for Midtown Plaza, Lincoln First Tower, Downtown Motor Inn, and Long Ridge Shopping Mall.
Bob was on The Real Estate Board of Rochester from 1972-1976, where he was Vice President in 1974 and President in 1975. He also devoted his time to serving on board for the Men’s Service Center from 1967-1988 and the Rochester Rotary Club from 1968-1995. The Rochester Rotary Club commended Bob and his wife, Linda for their dedication and service to the community.
A graveside service will be privately held at Irondequoit Cemetery in the Spring.
