Sarah Langer Obituary

Sarah Louise Langer:

Accord, NY:  Age 29, departed from this world and entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. She is survived by her devoted parents, Carl and Margaret Langer; her cherished sister Caroline Langer; her beloved brothers, James (Patricia) Langer and Jonathan Langer.  Sarah was a dearly loved "auntie" to her baby nephew and a radiant beam of light in our lives. She leaves behind her adoring feline companion Luna.

Sarah, our beautiful princess, was born on Monday, May 9, 1994 at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, NY.  She was raised in Cottekill, NY and later resided in Accord, NY.  As a young girl, Sarah's journey of faith began at Lomontville Assembly of God Church, where she was baptized and participated in the Missionettes program.  Sarah embraced the teachings of kindness and service earning her the esteemed "Honor Star" for her unwavering dedication.  She enjoyed leading the songs during Vacation Bible School and Children's Church Services. In her early years, Sarah shined as a dancer and gymnast earning accolades as a "Marbletown Star".  She was happiest when she chould "Dance, dance, dance".  She loved collecting seashells, saving starfish, having sand between her toes, and sharing her joy with others. Sarah began as a home schooled student.  Later she attended Wawarsing Christian Academy and graduated from Rondout Valley High School in 2012; where she was in the top ten percent of her class, receiving a full scholarship to SUNY Ulster.  Academically, and athletically, gifted; Sarah played for the volleyball, basketball, soccer and track teams.  She was also an active leader in extracurricular activities leaving and indelible mark on the mock trial team, stage crew, school newspaper and Newcomers Uplifted.  Sarah successfully completed an internship at the Ulster County District Attorney's Office. While continuing her journey at SUNY Ulster, Sarah's brilliance earned a spot in the College Scholars program and Phi Theta Kappa while playing for the volleyball team. While driven for a passion for justice, Sarah entered the paralegal program at Genesee Community College in Batavia, NY.  While attending school parttime Sarah's journey took her into the field of retail.  Sarah excelled in the area of retail management working as a sales associate, assistant manager, and store manager at Aeropostle, Old Navy, and Ulta.  Sarah found sheer joy in the rhythm of life and being able to work with others as a team.  Sarah's spirit of adventure took her to countless music festivals across the country with "Coachella" holding a special place in her heart.  One of her last places of employment was with ENVOY/American Airlines in customer service where Sarah took great pride in the opportunity to serve others. With a heart full of compassion, and a mind eager to excel, Sarah was accepted into the nursing program at SUNY Ulster for the fall of 2024.  Her dream to work in the ER one day where she felt she could "make the greatest contribution to help others", was a testament to her determination and unwavering spirit, embodying her belief in the power of kindness and love.  She recently started working parttime at Ulta and weekly volunteered her expertise at putting outfits together at the Pregnancy Support Center of Ulster.

Sarah's infectious laugh, radiant smile, and boundless love touched countless lives, forging lifelong friendships and leaving an indelible  imprint of warmth and compassion on all who knew her.  She was the type of friend to care indiscriminately, and love unconditionally.  As we bid farewell to our beloved Sarah Louise Langer, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness and love, remembering her words, "be kind, love more".  May her passion for life continue to inspire us all until we are reunited with her again in Heaven.  In loving memory of Sarah Louise Langer, two Celebrations of Life services are planned.  For those living in Western NY, a celebration of life service will be offered on Saturday, April 27, 2024, 10:30AM, in the Webster Assembly of God Church, 708 Hard Road, Webster, NY 14580.
