Palmyra: Barbie passed away on September 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Barb was born October 30, 1954, as her parents’ beloved baby. She was predeceased by her father Thomas H. Gardner, mother Marion Doris Gardner, brother John E. Gardner, and nephew Steven M. Gardner. Barb will be sadly missed by her sister, Sharon (Kim) Griffin, brother Fred Gardner, sister Donna Gardner, and nieces and nephews Brenda (Martin) Morris, Teresa (Marty) Bates, Alisha (Robert) Rich, Tod (Carie) Gardner,  Kelly (Glenn) Purvis, Steven Gardner, Nicholas Gardner, and Jason (Wendy) Griffin. Also, her loving great nieces and nephews, Christopher and Hannah Morris, Brittany (Ken) Mott, Lincoln Rich, Devin, Kyle and Nathan Gardner, Tyler and Alexis Gardner, Peyton and Khloe Purvis.

She spent her life living adventurously and loving everyone she met deeply. The world will truly miss her remarkable blessing of making anyone she met laugh. “For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands,” 2 Corinthians 5.

Family and friends may join for a time of visitation on Saturday (September 24) from 11 AM - 1 PM at the funeral chapel, 123 E. Jackson St., Palmyra, NY, where her funeral service will be held at 1 PM.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbie’s name may be directed to New Covenant Baptist Church, 4317 Co Rd. 46, Canandaigua, NY 14424.  To leave the family an online condolence, please visit www.murphyfuneralservices.com.
