When I was young Eva used to come clean our house. My mom (Lucy) had hired Eva after she returned to work when us kids got old enough to allow her to work again. I remember Eva being there when I would come home. She would always say hello, in her sweet, calm voice, and always with a smile. She was just so nice. That sounds like an unremarkable thing to say about her, but she really was, and that's how I remember her. I am happy to have known her, if only in the few times I saw her while helping my mother. RIP Eva. And wasn't her son the one who painted the eagle in the high school gym, right over scoreboard? And they painted over it? Still angry about that...
